Website terms

How to use this website and how survey assignments are confirmed.

ITS International Marine Surveyors Ltd

Clear scope.
Written agreement.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of the public website operated by ITS International Marine Surveyors Ltd (“ITS”, “we”, “us” or “our”), based in Mombasa, Kenya. They explain the status of information on this website and do not replace the written terms for a particular survey or inspection assignment.

Website information and service scope

Website descriptions are general information about services that may include marine and vessel surveys, cargo inspection and tallying, draft surveys, damage and loss surveys, agricultural commodity inspection, industrial or project inspection, and specialist marine services. A listing is not a promise that a service, standard, location, date, qualified person, equipment or third-party resource is available or suitable for a particular assignment. Statutory, class, certification, testing, NDT, underwater and other specialist work is undertaken only where ITS has expressly confirmed the scope, capability and appointment in writing.

Enquiries and appointment

A website form, telephone call, email or WhatsApp message is an enquiry only. It does not accept an assignment, reserve attendance or create a client-surveyor relationship. An assignment starts only when ITS confirms acceptance in writing. Before work begins, the parties should agree the client instructions, scope and limits, location and attendance window, applicable method or standard, access and safety arrangements, deliverables, fees, payment arrangements and any reliance or distribution restrictions. Assignment-specific written terms take precedence over these general website terms for that work.

Survey observations and reports

Unless the written assignment states otherwise, a survey report records observations made by the attending surveyor within the agreed scope, at the stated time and place, and subject to access, instructions, sampling and information available. Conditions may change after attendance. Visual inspection, measurements, draft calculations, tallying, photographs and other observations are limited by the agreed method and the conditions encountered; they do not establish facts beyond that scope or guarantee the condition, quantity, quality, fitness, value or future performance of a vessel or cargo.

Reports are prepared for the named client and stated purpose. No other person may rely on, reproduce, circulate or use a report as a certificate, expert opinion or recommendation unless the applicable assignment terms or ITS’s written authorization permit it. Legal, insurance, valuation, classification, certification or regulatory advice is not provided unless specifically included in a written appointment.

Client instructions and site arrangements

The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete instructions and relevant documents, identifying its authority to request the work and share information, arranging timely access to the vessel, cargo or site, and advising ITS of known hazards and applicable site rules. ITS may pause, decline or limit attendance where access, safety, instructions, personnel or other agreed prerequisites are not in place; any resulting fees or rescheduling are governed by the assignment-specific terms.

Portal, digital records and verification

Portal job statuses, device times, location data, uploaded media, field notes, automated alerts and analytics support administration and reporting. Device-provided time or location does not independently prove when or where an observation occurred. A portal status or request reference is not an appointment or a substitute for an agreed report. A QR-linked verification result or PDF fingerprint comparison checks a document against ITS’s recorded reference; it is not, by itself, a qualified digital signature, proof of custody, or a guarantee of acceptance by a port, customs authority, insurer, bank or other recipient.

Website use, content and external services

You may use this website for lawful purposes and should not attempt to disrupt it, bypass access controls, upload malicious content or misuse information belonging to another person. Website text, branding, graphics and other materials are owned by ITS or used with permission and may not be republished for commercial use without prior written permission. Links to WhatsApp, maps, Google Fonts or other third-party services are provided for convenience; those services are operated under their own terms and privacy notices. ITS does not control their availability or content.

Availability and legal rights

We take reasonable steps to keep website information useful and the site available, but online services may be interrupted, changed or contain errors. To the extent permitted by law, the website and its general information are provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability or suitability for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Liability for a commissioned assignment is addressed in the applicable written assignment terms and applicable law.
